Singing sensation Hayley Westenra appeared on Scotland Today the day after singing in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance in Edinburgh. She told us about the experience, and how just a few days before she had been singing in front of Prime Minister Tony Blair and American President George Bush.

She also spoke about her meteoric career, and how she had gone from busking just a few years ago to being an internationally famous singer. She explained that she was initially discovered after she used the money she earned from busking to make a recording, and how a member of her family had paid to get the recording pressed up as a CD.
