On the road from New Zealand...

March 5th 2004 - News update provided by Steve Abbott, Hayley's manager
The tour of New Zealand was highly successful. As usual, Hayley was on top form, and both Sophie and Isaac appeared too, Sophie performing "Tears In Heaven" and Isaac duetting with her on "Greensleeves". The show was opened by Hinewehi Mohi, some evenings she was accompanied by Maori dancers.

The other guest artist was Maori Tenor Brandon Poe, who sang 4 solos and duetted with Hayley on two songs. One of the highlights of the last few weeks was the presentation by Helen Clarke, the NZ Prime Minister, to Hayley of a 10 times Platinum award for the best selling Kiwi album of all time for "Pure". Despite a gruelling schedule, Hayley managed to sign and chat to everybody who stayed behind after the concerts.

There has been a day off and then she is filming a video promo clip for pokarekare Ana (the director is a Canadian called Lisa Mann). Two stunning NZ locations, Cathedral Cove and kari Kari (famous for the opening beach scene in the film "The Piano"). The record company wanted to record the video in Cuba, but it really had to be New Zealand, and we had a lot of help from local people in making it happen.

We get to Christchurch on Saturday only to leave on Sunday for Melbourne for the first Australian show on Wednesday. We are very excited to get back to the UK on March 17th.

Only bad news we have had was that Decca couldn't secure the legal rights to put "Wuthering Heights" video onto the single.
