Denise
Van Outen is to appear in her first solo concert this
summer.
The TV presenter turned stage star has already proved
she can sing in West End shows Chicago and Tell Me On
A Sunday.
But
she has always dreamed of a pop career and will perform
solo at the Hampton Court festival on June 18.
The
29-year-old promises audiences ``something old, something
new, something borrowed, something blue``.
The
old and borrowed are likely to be songs from her two musicals.
Van
Outen won rave reviews for her role as Roxie Hart in Chicago
both here and on Broadway. And the critics loved her performance
in Andrew Lloyd Webber`s one-woman show Tell Me On A Sunday.
Her
next project is a new Saturday night entertainment show
for BBC1 in which she teams up with old Big Breakfast
partner Johnny Vaughan.
Hampton
Court, the Surrey palace once home to Henry VIII, will
host the June 8-19 annual festival.
Van
Morrison, Bryan Ferry, Nigel Kennedy, Joaquin Cortes,
Bryn Terfel and Jools Holland are among the stars who
will perform.
Hayley
Westenra, the 16-year-old singing sensation
from New Zealand, will close the festival.
Sir
Elton John was the star of last year`s event.
