The 18
year old classical superstar joins the RLPO in concert
At the age of just 18, Hayley Westenra has already
duetted with Andrea Bocelli, José Carreras,
Bryn Terfel and Russell Watson. Now she joins the
RLPO in a one-off concert after recording with the
orchestra in 2004.
Pure,
the record-breaking 2003 collection which marked her
international debut, was made when Hayley was 15.
The album, which has sold two million copies to date,
topped the UK classical charts and also went Top Ten
in the pop equivalent. In her homeland, it is the
biggest-selling New Zealand album of all time.
Hayley's
new album, Odyssey, is released worldwide in August.
Her wonderful voice retains its crystal-clear purity,
but Westenra's singing is now richer and more rounded
than before. Her concert with the RLPO is sure to
be an extra-special event.
