Pack
a picnic, find a patch of grass in
the Domain and have a Kiwi Christmas.
Fourteen-year-old
New Zealand singer Hayley Westenra
will entertain more than 100,000 people
expected for tonight's 19th Carols
in the Domain.
"This
is the first time I've performed outside
New Zealand and that's the kind of
exciting bit," she said.
Not
that large crowds are anything new
to Hayley - she sang solo in front
of 200,000 people in Auckland in January,
and 150,000 in her home town of Christchurch
last Christmas.
With
a voice likened to Welsh singer Charlotte
Church, it is unsurprising Hayley has
rocketed to fame. And there is no letting
up for the young star. In February,
she is set to take on Los Angeles and
Taiwan.
